Joan Bonany Rocas

Joan Bonany is an agricultural engineer with a Master’s in Fruit Science from Cornell University (Fulbright). He works at IRTA-Mas Badia, where he’s been Director since 2016. He’s led national and European fruit production projects and breeding programs. He chaired SECH’s fruit group (2006–2010), was EUFRIN president (2006–2008), and is on the “5 a Day” scientific committee. He coordinated IRTA’s “Smart Agrifood Systems” (2020–2024) and now leads its digitalization strategy.
